Our Story

Message from the President - Kevin Johnson

Our main goal is to be Western Canada’s go-to resource for temperature control products and services for transport and industry. For over 50 years Hiway Refrigeration has been British Columbia’s Carrier Transicold dealer providing temperature control equipment, parts and service to the transportation industry.

At the same time Eskimo Refrigeration served the Alberta and Saskatchewan market with similar purpose as the Carrier & Webasto dealer.

These two dealerships forged their legacies in Western Canada beginning in the mid-sixties, growing and thriving in our western economy over the past half century.
A number of our senior technicians have been a part of this story for over 30 years and continue to provide unrivaled expertise, knowledge and mentorship for our younger technicians.

In 2018 we were very pleased to announce that Hiway Refrigeration had acquired Eskimo Refrigeration from the Fleming family. By building on the strong legacies of the Eskimo and Hiway teams, and now uniting them as one team we have the opportunity to deliver a consistent and predictable customer experience across Western Canada.

We are a customer-focused business that provides certainty for customers needing responsive, expert support of innovative temperature control solutions for transport and industry.


Our Path Forward

It became clear to us very early on that this merging of businesses, cultures and most importantly people had resulted in something that was much larger and significant than a just corporate transaction. It was an opportunity to strive for something special and unique for our employees, vendor partners and customers that would differentiate us in our space.
